
Bio: (1951-) American sociologist. He received his doctorate in 1980 from the University of California, San Diego. He currently teaches at the University of Denver. He uses symbolic interactionism as a theoretical and practical approach to the study of social psychology, the sociology of work, sports and leisure, deviant behavior, and the sociology of childhood. He collaborated on all of his research and books with his wife, Patricia.
